Day 1 / Arrive London

Upon arrival into London be transferred to your hotel. At 6.30pm, enjoy a Special Dinner and lecture from Rosemary Alexander, regular judge of the Chelsea Flower Show. Rosemary was the first woman to be elected a Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers. Rosemary’s lecture will be on ‘the Chelsea Flower Show Gardens’, which will give you a great insight into the exhibits you will see at the Show. Day 2 / Chelsea Flower Show

Enjoy a full day to experience the famous Chelsea Flower Show. For over 140 years, the show has been delighting visitors from all over the world with its amazing show gardens and floral exhibits. See the latest garden designs, learn of recent plant and floral releases and take the opportunity to talk to some of the exhibitors. This is the ‘mecca’ of all garden shows, and one that every gardening enthusiast should attend at least once in their life. Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 / Gardens of Somerset, Tavistock

Depart London and travel out to Somerset to a private garden set on four acres with mixed borders full of seasonal interest and unusual plants surrounding the house. We continue to Tavistock to stay in the 19th Century Bedford Hotel that exudes elegance and charisma and makes for a wonderful English experience. Day 4 / Tregothnan and Trebah Gardens

Visit Tregothnan Gardens, Cornwall’s largest private botanical gardens housing some rare ‘Red Book’ endangered trees, which are larger than any in the wild. Enjoy a traditional Devon Cream Tea then continue to the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Garden, set against an amazing coastal backdrop. Records of the garden date back to the Doomsday survey of 1085. Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 5 / Padstow, Rick Stein Lunch and Port Isaac

Depart for the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac, where the popular television series Doc Martin was filmed. Continue to Padstow, home to the famous English chef and television personality Rick Stein. Enjoy a gourmet lunch at the best of Rick’s famous seafood restaurants. This afternoon travel back to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day to soak up the beautiful grounds of your hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6 / Exbury Gardens, Arrive Portsmouth or London

Travel to the Rothschild Exbury Gardens, one of the finest woodland gardens in the country. Lionel Rothschild created this garden during the era of the plant hunters where seeds were brought back for the garden from remote areas of the Himalayas and South-East Asia. From here, you’ll be transferred by coach to Portsmouth, to join Botanica’s British Isles Cruise, arriving at approximately 4.00pm, followed by Heathrow Airport at around 5.00pm or the St James Court Hotel which is in Central London at around 6.00pm.
