Activity Level A good level of fitness is essential for you to undertake walks in hot conditions and over rugged terrain with uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces. Some walks will require you to clamber over large boulders up to one metre high.  On some of the more challenging walks at Bell Gorge, Mitchell Falls and Piccaninny Creek, you’ll be accompanied and assisted by two expert APT guides.  This tour contains some longer, more challenging walks. Day 1 / Darwin

Arrive in Darwin and this evening enjoy a welcome dinner at the Hilton Darwin before your fascinating journey continues. Accommodation: Hilton, Darwin Meals: Dinner

Day 2 / Darwin, Ubirr Rock Art

Depart Darwin and travel across the sweeping wetlands of the Marrakai Plains to Kakadu National Park. Today visit the sacred site of Ubirr and explore its galleries of ancient Indigenous rock art. The magnificent rock faces have been continuously painted and repainted since 40,000BC, with most created approximately 2,000 years ago. Day 3 / Arnhem Land, Aboriginal Art, Cannon Hill, Hawk Dreaming

Accompanied by a local guide, cross the East Alligator River into the spiritual Arnhem Land. Experience the art and natural beauty of a region that is inaccessible to most travellers. Return to enjoy the surrounds of Hawk Dreaming as the sun sets. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4 / Nourlangie Rock, Katherine

Travel to stunning Kakadu, the Northern Territory’s best known national park. At Nourlangie Rock, view Aboriginal rock art. Cruise the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Here, wildlife abounds and local a guide will give you great insights into how the Bininj people use the flora and fauna to support their way of life. Later travel to Katherine and enjoy canapés and drinks at the beautiful Cicada Lodge, before indulging in an exceptional gourmet three-course meal. Day 5 / Katherine Gorge, Kununurra

Head to the beautiful Nitmiluk National Park, before boarding an unforgettable cruise through the spectacular Katherine Gorge. Discover the music, stories and ways of the local Jawoyn people as you learn about their spiritual culture. Afterwards, travel into Western Australia. Day 6 / Lake Argyle, Ord River Cruise

Travel to the majestic Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From a modern shaded vessel, discover a fascinating ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations to create an area rich in wildlife, flora and undeniable beauty. Day 7 / Purnululu National Park

Day 8 / Cathedral Gorge, Piccaninny Creek

Hike to Piccaninny Creek and through to the spectacular Cathedral Gorge. Perhaps indulge in an optional helicopter flight - own expense. Watch as the sun sets over the stunning Bungle Bungle Range. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 9 / Purnululu National Park, El Questro

Farewell the Bungle Bungle Range and travel to El Questro Wilderness Park, a million-acre cattle station in the heart of the Kimberley. Stay two nights immersed in nature to explore this primordial setting. Accommodation: Two Nights: Emma Gorge Resort in the picturesque El Questro Wilderness Park Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 10 / El Questro Wilderness Park

Discover the amazing wonders of El Questro Wilderness Park today. With a local ranger, embark on a cruise along stunning Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterway fringed by tropical vegetation and rugged escarpments. After lunch, head to the beautiful Zebedee Springs, a permanent natural thermal spring tucked away in a secluded pocket of rainforest. Return to Emma Gorge and enjoy dinner later this evening. Day 11 / El Questro, Gibb River Road, Mitchell Plateau

Journey along the Gibb River Road to arrive at Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge. Enjoy the facilities of the lodge’s Ungolan Pavilion, where you can relax in the lounge, treat yourself to a drink or read up on the local culture. Accommodation: Two Nights: EXCLUSIVE! Day 12 / Mitchell Falls, Helicopter Flight

Discover Mitchell Falls, a true highlight of your Kimberley adventure. Where possible, a local Indigenous guide will join you, providing a unique insight into the region. Begin with a hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rare Aboriginal art. Continue on to Big Mertens Falls before arriving at Mitchell Falls. Take a dip in the river before enjoying a helicopter flight over the spectacular Mitchell Falls back to the vehicle. Alternatively, hike back with your guide. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 13 / Mitchell Plateau, King Edward River, Ancient Rock Art

View unique Wandjina and Bradshaw Art Gwion Gwion on the banks of the King Edward River. Accommodation: Drysdale River Station Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 14 / Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge

Journey to the beautiful Manning Gorge where you can spot local birdlife as you enjoy lunch in the shade of a gum tree. Continue to Galvans Gorge, where a short walk leads to a picturesque waterhole. Admire the rock art adorning the gorge walls or indulge in a leisurely swim. Accommodation: Two Nights: EXCLUSIVE! Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 15 / Bell Gorge, Hiking and Swimming

Back on the Gibb River Road, travel to Bell Gorge, where stunning cliffs surround a series of tiered waterholes. Sitting approximately 300 metres above sea level, Bell Gorge is an idyllic natural spot for swimming and photography. Here you can also enjoy a spot of bird-watching. Should you be feeling particularly energetic, you may take the opportunity to hike to the lower pool of the gorge and enjoy a relaxing dip below the cascading waterfall. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 16 / Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek, Broome

Journey to Windjana Gorge, where cliffs tower above white sands. Wade through Tunnel Creek to the stunning oasis beyond. Travel to Broome and arrive at the iconic Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa, where you can enjoy a drink as you watch the sunset before a Farewell Dinner at the resort’s Sunset Bar and Grill. Accommodation: Broome, Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 17 / Depart Broome

Be transferred to the airport for your flight home. Meals: Breakfast
